Fourth of July Parade
What time do we need to arrive?
July 4th - 9:30 AM Arrive at the designated general area by 9:30. We will be staging on Toledo out front of the ETHS gym. Look for the red star in the bottom right hand corner of the map below. We will be as close as possible to this location, located at Position No. 42 of the parade line-up. The parade starts at 10:00. It is a bit chaotic. Allow time to park and walk to the area. We will have a couple of Dolphin balloons and our banner.
Many of the roads in the area will be closed and parking will be difficult. Earlier is better!
What will we be doing?
Kids will walk, ride bikes, scooters or skate boards. Helmets are required. Also encourage your kids to decorate “their ride”. Feel free to bring bubbles for the young ones. We will have a minimum amount of candy but it must be handed, not thrown, by parents. Also, no poppers or water guns ☹ I know, silly, but those are the LF Parade Committee rules.
All participants 8 and under need a responsible adult accompanying them on the route
Please wear your Dolphin T-Shirt or a blue shirt and lots of sunscreen!
What should we bring?
Make sure to bring water and a snack. We will have some water but not enough for everyone. You can buy water at various places on the parade route as well. Also donʼt forget all the obvious “stuff” like comfortable shoes, light clothing, sun screen, hats, etc.
Is there anything else?
Remember, this is an opportunity to get a huge amount of exposure for our team. Letʼs make this a fun event for the crowd and let them know that we have the best coaching staff and families and last but not least.....fast swimmers!
De Staging will be at the El Toro HS student parking lot (Ridge Route/Serrano). Please pick up your child (if they're 9 and over and participating without a parent) by 10:45 am.
