2010 4th of July Parade (July 3rd) Participants

Thank you so much for your interest in participating in this year’s 4th of July parade with the Dolphins which will be held on July 3rd this year. We have been involved in the Lake Forest 4th of July Parade for a few years and want to ensure that it continues to be a positive experience for everyone involved.

1. Shoes: For safety, please wear close toed shoes, such as tennis shoes. We will be walking up to a mile, so please make sure that your feet are comfortable.

2. Clothing: Please wear any Dolphin clothing that you have from this year or any years past. If you do not have Dolphin clothing, please wear red, white, and blue. Again, please dress for spirit and of course comfort because it can be quite hot in July.

3. Items you might want to bring: Sunscreen, a towel, something cool to drink.

4. Vehicles: You may ride your Razor or bike during the parade but you must wear a helmet-NO EXCEPTIONS! Motorized vehicles and skateboards or NOT allowed. You may decorate your vehicle and helmet with patriotic items.

5. Staging:
This is a Dolphin family event so ALL are welcome to participate. Children under the age 14 MUST be accompanied by an adult. In the past, children have been dropped off at the parade without supervision. Unless you have made solid arrangements with another parent to care for your child, dropping them off is strictly prohibited! The adult who is responsible for the Dolphin child must check in no later than 10:00 am. on the 3rd of July. Please look for us at the float which will be at the staging area located on Toledo between El Toro and Ridge Route. Parking will be limited so plan accordingly. There will also be a sign up sheet for the parade and more info on the coach’s office window.
De-staging is not allowed on Serrano, between Dayton and Ridge Route.

According to the city regulations, we are not allowed to throw or propel anything along the parade route. Instead, we will HAND OUT items to the spectators.

Please dispose of trash and items no longer needed in appropriate containers. DO NOT dump trash onto the street or in parking lots. Trash bins will be readily available.

Remember, you are a representing the Lake Forest II Dolphins and it’s up to all of us to act appropriately, so let’s work together and go above and beyond!

We look forward to having a great time with you and thank you again for volunteering!
